Amadeo Peter (A.P.) Giannini
May 6, 1870 - June 3, 1949.

The founder of the Bank of America, Amadeo Peter Giannini was born in San Jose, California on May 6, 1870. His father Luigi was born near Genoa in 1848, the son of a prosperous vineyard owner. Naturally upon immigrating to the U.S. the son turned to the craft he best knew. His wife Virginia Demartini was also from Genoa. San Vincenzo to be exact. Luigi and Virginia married in 1868, she was but 14 years old.

Within two years the pair would leave their homeland and settle in the Santa Clara Valley. Joining them was an old friend of Luigi's Ernesto Varconi. The family settled on a ranch in Alviso a few miles outside of San Jose. The couple would go on to produce three sons, Amadeo, Atillo Henry (Doc) born in 1874 and George born in 1877.

The family was one of the most prosperous in the Italian colony owning several acres of land most of which was used in farming. They also ran the Swiss Hotel on Market Street. All was well for young A.P. until the day in 1877 when his father was shot and killed by a man who owed him an unspecified sum of money. A.P. witnessed the shooting and was present as his father breathed his last breath.

Just a few months after the death of his father, A.P. witnessed his mother marry Lorenzo Scatena a friend of his fathers who worked as a teamster. From this marriage came three other siblings. Henry, Florence and Pearl. Lorenzo Scatena known as "boss" or "pop" to his boys, taught A.P. the traditions of loyalty and honesty, straightforwardness and truth. In 1879 Scatena moved the family to San Francisco where they took up residence on Jackson Street between Mason and Powell. The family fortunes would continue to soar as A.P. matured and gained knowledge and wisdom in business affairs. The Scatena-Giannini's began to dominate the purchase and sale of fruit along the docks of San Francisco.

This business would provide many of the ties which led to the meteoric raise of Giannini's bank of America.

So was there a connection between the Scatena`s / Giannini`s and the "black hand"?

Why do I get the impression that financiers like the Giannini`s and Rothschild / Moody`s used ghetto criminals like the Black Hand to do their dirty work (wet work your euphemism). This just didn`t happen in Houston but in LA and San Francisco. Close?

Why do I think there`s something more to Tavi Lanes and Guasti`s than you`re saying.

By the way after leaving YRL / UCLA I walked over to Rodeo Drive and eventually got as far as Cuehenga Blvd. by foot (I wanted to see if I still had it in me, hehehe) and stopped at Bijan`s guess who`s name is on the who`s who list on Bijan`s window but one of the Fertittas. Man talk about a coincidence because I was thinking about this stuff as I was walking.

That`s a hell of a question to ask. Hehehehehe.

I take it you`ve been to Bijan`s. That list of defense contractors, arch-politicians, financiers and celebs. It made me realize that this guy Fertitta and "Family" (notice the upper-case F) was one of the big sharks. It looks like you`ve really landed a huge fish here and you know how he does what he does. But I knew this when you mentioned that billion-dollar lne of credit.

Congratulations on you research and writing skills.

It`s Friday and I`m headed back to Rodeo for dinner. I`m going exploring again this evening. That`s a real interesting part of town.

Why do I think that list is important than I know?

Do this have anything to do with 10900 Wellworth Avenue?

I'm always interested in what you see. Oh and thanks for the complements on the research and writing. They are greatly appreciated. Something on the Dodgers and Major League Baseball's looming scandal coming soon. More to it than the media knows and the beating case is simply a diversion to an issue that is bigger than most realize.

I`m not sure what I`m seeing Fellas! To be honest with you. Which is probably a good thing because I`m moving out of comfort zone. Which is the whole idea of not going back to SF.

I think we are closing in on the end of industrialism with the devaluation of the dollar to zero and that there will be a massive transfer of wealth. On the other hand those people hoarding gold and silver are snowing the masses into believing in a transfer and devaluation to zero. I`m not financial enough yet to see the whole picture. This goes with your post on economic manipulation.

The real question is how do we take advantage of this situation?

Your opinion on Bijan`s list? How do you see that list.

Patience and maintaining liquidity is key. Don't be fooled by the glowing reports on gold, silver or any other commodity. The sharp risen and drastic decrease in the price of silver a week ago is but one example of the continued manipulation of the system. It is interesting to note how many people listen to politically slanted talk shows yet fail to note the overt promotion of ideals, theories and agendas which benefit them not at all. Nonetheless, some tribes live amongst sheep. They raise, train, nourish and eventually sell or slaughter them when the time is right. The sheep go to market and or their death never realizing the shepherd's role in orchestrating their demise.

Individuals aren't the key... What is import is the combined influence contained therein... Understand?

Now you`re really starting to sound like RTK. Hehehehe. Actually he uses the analogy about fatten up the masses. It`s a good analogy.

So you`re opinion on that list? I wonder who are the real stringpullers on that list or are they political and financial fronts for somebody else?
