I don't recall Fratianno mentioning any children in his books or interviews but he does have one child living in southern California. Jimmy the Weasel also had at least two tatts one a horseshoe with "Good Luck" enscribed on his forearm. Wink

I thought he mentioned a daughter in "The Last Mafioso". While on his family, he had a brother Warren. I thought he was straight (a citizen), On your other site I think it had a photo of both Jimmy & Warren sitting in a police station. Was Warren ever in trouble with the law, or mobbed up?

Warren was picked up during the investigation into the two Tony murders. He was also involved in gambling as well.

Something that I've never really been able to figure out, who's account of events to believe- Jimmy or Mickey Cohen's. Example: Jimmy had what I believed at one time to be a clear recollection of the planning and events the night Hooky Rothman what killed (albeit thru Ovid Demaris) in the attempt on Mickey's life at his haberdashery. If you read Mickey's book and his version of events that night, they are very different right up to the time the shooting starts. So who do you believe? Mickey had brain damage from a prison beat-down, so is his recollection clear at the time he's dictating his book? There is nothing but praise from Demaris regarding Jimmy's memory of the details of his life, but then again how much of this was sweetened by Demaris' previous knowledge of organized crime in LA? In Jimmy's second book, it's clear he is having recollection problems when he's being cross-examined in many of the trials he's testifing at. Now, enter a scenario that Jiggy has stated in that the murder of Hooky had been planned by Mickey as they had feuded over Hooky's alledged drug addiction(I'd like to know what Hooky was addicted to). I know the truth is somewhere there in the middle, Any thoughts anyone?

While in the witness protection program Jimmy tried to extort money from an old Jewish bookie operating out of Beverly Hills. He left a number where he could be reached which wasn't to smart on his part seeing is how he had a price on his head. The reason I know this is because the bookie was giving info to my uncle who was from Ad Vice in the L.A.P.D. . My uncle called the number found out where he was ( up by the Canadian border ) then phoned the U.S. Marshals and informed them about The Weasel's little act. At first the Marshals denied having Jimmy in the program but a few days later they called my uncle back and told him that after investigating him (my uncle) they realized he was an honest cop and took his story seriously. Jimmy was then moved from that location.

Mickey's account was pretty straight forward. At least what he said. As for Demaris, I think it was in his best interest to paint Jimmy's account unquestionable. As you point out, there is reason to believe Jimmy was having recollection problems or adding things as he went along. One example of this is the entire Russian Louie affair which just doesn't make any sense at all. The story of Jimmy's extortion attempt by Teddy G. is classic.

As for Hooky's addiction, it was heroin. As for Neddie Herbert, there is reason to believe Mickey had a financial interest in having Hooky murdered as well which would have served him far better than having Hooky bumped off. Neddie Herbert owned a bank in New York in which Frank Costello and Tony Milano both held interest. That is the reason Costello took such an interest in the entire Herbert shooting. Mickey remained pretty closed mouth about the entire affair. At least closed mouth for him.
